Good Morning ,
I had just finished a very
inspired post and noticed it wasn't autosaving. I mistakenly hit the refresh button and then it was gone. Along with this weeks post went my inspiration to recreate it. The spiritual process for content creation that I undergo is such that I can hardly recall anything of what I write. The content flows week after week like an endless stream that I don't question. It's just something to which I yield in a prophetic and humble posture. This loss felt bigger this time. It was a forced "PAUSE" and
during a beautiful drive through New Mexico this week, the inspiration came to re-air the enclosed post.
I'm not sure who exactly this is for, but I know it matters. This post came at the end of last years series on the book of Hebrews. We had spent weeks following the anonymous writer through his justification to deconstruct religion and follow this figure
(Christ) who inaugurated the first spiritual but not religious movement. As I listened again to it, I heard it as you will, like it was the first time, and it triggered so many things that I feel our world needs to consider.
We live in very turbulent and confused times. The cosmic effect of shared pain, suffering, loss, and fear is palpable and not
something that most people can process in a healthy way. As a result, everyone is turning to their favorite numbing agent, or source of distraction. The world is getting more religious not less religious, as it turns everything into a thing. So how do we navigate right now? I reflect in this post on 5 postures we can adopt to radically change how we can thrive once we are liberated from our extremely religious world.
The words in here are spiritual food which can offer a bit of wisdom if we have ears to hear.
I invite you to carve out 40 minutes or so, put on the head phones and listen prayerfully to see if the Spirit speaks. If so...may we listen.
Peace to you all.
