Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a great Labor Day weekend!
It seems that 95% of our efforts are spent solely to reproduce the life that we had yesterday. If you are engaged in any kind of pursuit that will enrich your life, or advance you to a better position, then you know just how much extra work is needed just to make a marginal improvement.
Nothing comes easy. That is why I try and encourage you every week.
It's easy to see the problems in the world and feel like things are hopeless; BUT THEY ARE NOT.
Our ideas, passions, and big goals are not just for ONE DAY! They must find a way into TODAY. This means that we get one little chance to make them happen.
I call it the 5% difference.
- It is that 30 minutes after the kids go to bed when we tell ourselves we are too tired to start a project.
- It is the willingness to set our alarm 45 minutes earlier so we ensure something gets done about our future plans.
- It is investing in that coach or toolset or book that will give us the inspiration and information we presently lack.
Yep. It's going to take work.
But once we begin, then our dream is no longer a dream, it becomes a plan. It becomes something to build upon whenever we discipline ourselves to seize the moment.
Listen to the voice. Turn off the TV. Because when we squander the small opportunities, we cut off our ability to be fully ourselves. No big opportunity will come if the little ones are ignored.
Our new ideas and hopes are the blueprints for progress.
