Happy Monday, !
We all want progress. We all hope to see the world become a bit better than it is today.
But isn't it strange how we differ in what we think progress really is? I think there are 2 primary approaches:
- Sometimes progress requires that we replace our present beliefs and actions with more informed beliefs and actions. This is the essence of all learning or what it means to be a disciple (a learner or student).
- Sometimes the most progressive thing we can do is to go back after we realize we made a mistake and to start over. This is the essence of all correction or what it means to live in a disciplined manner.
Personal, political, social, and religious tensions exist because people are operating in some combination of these two trajectories. Think about it.
- So how do we make genuine progress as individuals and as a people?
- Is progress even possible if people are working from diverse play books? (this last question will help you see your default mode)
If I could give you one nugget for this week, it would be to help you see that while you are:
- building a business
- building a family
- building a society..
...All these things are ALSO BUILDING US! The question is what are we becoming by them?
I want to invite you to read the latest excerpt from my new book called "Oblivious." In this new section i break down what progress really is and precisely how diverse people can move forward together.
The solution I offer may surprise you. Make sure to sign up for advanced chapters and a FREE COPY.
