Good morning!-- I hope you are having a few days off as you celebrate the holidays and finish up the year.

2013 was a great year for me to personally apply all the wisdom & content that I have been sharing with you.

I don't believe I can ever lead people where I have not been myself, so watch this video to catch up on all the "REPOTTING" that has taken place in my life this year. I hope it will inspire your to go a bit deeper in 2014.

What are people saying about "REPOTconnect"?

It's amazing to think about the impact of a simple newsletter. My recipe is simple: Provide people with the best possible content on subjects that matter most to modern people, and do it with a genuine heart of service and love.

The result: On Monday's this goes out to hundreds of people across the country and by the weekend it can cross the ocean. For example, one of my videos was viewed more than 3900 times in 15 countries.

Thrive Community Foundation

For those of you who didn't know, a minimum of 10% of the proceeds from REPOTconnect go to the Thrive Community Foundation. This years recipient of our disbursement went to World Bicycle Relief. This amazing organization provides bikes for people in 3rd world regions which provide economic and cultural empowerment. How cool is that?

Final Thought

Christmas does bring out the weirdness that seems dormant most of the time. Marketers are trying to get every dime they can. People are stressed. Kids are excited. Our waistlines are expanding.

It's usually at this time that churches and religious folks also kick into high gear. This is also their version of black friday. I heard someone say: "Open up the gift of Jesus this year." My immediate reaction was: "WTF?"

Then it occurred to me. That is precisely the problem. Too many people want to put Jesus in a box. They commoditize him. Religion is the exercise of putting God into a box so he can be easily processed and consumed by others.

Look I'm not throwing stones because I know there are sincere people out there, but if your Jesus fits in your box and can be opened on demand, then we aren't talking about the same guy.

The one I seem to relate to is the enlightened man who lived a life of serving others and somehow his death allows people and God to "get good" with each other. All the theories about how that works can easily fit in a box. But never the essence of Jesus. I see this essence in so many faces and in the lives of so many diverse people in this world. I guess there is a sense where he is unwrapped when we all stand together in unity.
