, can you believe we are at the end of another year?
So, how did you do?
Nearly all New Year's Resolutions begin out of the recognition that our year could have been better. Resolutions indicate that we perceive a deficiency in our life:
- We let ourselves go physically, got out of shape, gained some weight, never curbed
our addictions.
- We were stagnant or declined financially, we got into debt, we put off starting that business, taking those courses, receiving that coaching.
- We realized we lived out other people's agenda's far more than our own.
- We know deep down that we now have one less year to live fulfilled and reach our potential.
This quote is helpful because it reminds us that the only day of the year that we can actually do anything about our life is
TODAY.
So a resolution for the year is worthless if there is no resolve on day 1, or 12, or 207.
Resolve is a commitment.
Resolve is a by-product, not a prerequisite.
Resolve is an exchange.
Resolve is ground zero for a new life. It is the junction of desire & possibility.
As such, these changes can
only become reality by first believing they are possible.
Thus we only need 4 things to bring our lives into conformity to our hopes:
1. Possibility thinking. (We must believe its possible-call it "faith")
2. A path of deliverables that leads to a certain outcome. (Coaching/Instruction)
3. The time to execute. (Turn off our TV, and stop making excuses)
4. Excellence. (Don't cheat ourself by doing
things half-assed.)
How about instead of making resolutions this year, we make a plan. Then we get the coaching, and community that will help us execute on it. If we do, I'll bet this will be our best year ever.
