Good morning ! I hope your week is off to a purposeful start.
In last week's video I showed you how our hopes and our reality are two aspects of the same thing. If my assertion is true, then progress in any aspect of our lives is possible.
However, if you are like me, then there are areas of our life where personal change is very difficult. Even though we might hope for a better outcome,
the reality of progress seems to elude us.
Have you ever wondered WHY some areas of progress seem impossible?
A few years ago I wrote a book called "Getting Better when you Can't" which is based upon the details of my doctoral thesis. I am rewriting this and will release this to you for free in the coming weeks.
In this I will show the mechanics of HOW PERSONAL PROGRESS works. This way we can
learn where we are getting stuck. HERE is the abbreviated process:
- Intellect: This is a combination of not only "what" we think, but primarily "how" we think. Our intellect is the seat of truth and where we form our worldview and beliefs. (Our intellect can be no better than our grasp of truth-which is limited in all of us)
- Affections: Our emotional reactions stem from "how" we think about things. Our knowledge in the intellect
informs us and shapes whether we will have an affection for or disaffection for a particular thing. (Our affections can be no better than our intellect)
- Will: Our will is simply a transducer. It changes the non-physical realities (hopes) into the material world (reality). There is no such thing as "will-power," the will has no power, it only does the specific work ordered by our affections. (Our will can be no better than our affections.)
- Actions: Our life is a byproduct of our actions. Our actions are all willed by our affections and informed by the way we think. If we don't like what we do or if we don't like our lack of progress, the issues lies in this pathway. What I usually find in my coaching is that most problems are "Truth" problems. (We can never live better than we think.)
I hope this brief snapshot helps you on the right path. I invite you to be watching
for my tutorials and videos on this pathway. If you would like personal coaching to help sort this out, please click the link and get started.
Have a great week.
