Here we go again.
It's that time again. It's the time of resolution, where we take aim at personal change or progress in light of a year where we didn't quite meet our own expectations.
Just about everyone wants you to GEAR UP, REV UP, or UP YOUR GAME.
Those of you who have been on this list for multiple years know that I too used to try and do the
same thing by offering content that would help you "get more by doing more."
But I finally learned something. That approach only works for those who are doing very little in the first place. Once your busy life reaches critical mass, "doing more" actually distracts you from your best life.
Next year I will be helping you to do much less, so that "the
more" can emerge and be celebrated within your present life.
We all know there has to MORE TO LIFE. There is. and to possess it we need to do less so we can become more. We are not HUMAN DOINGS, we are HUMAN BEINGS.
One way to demonstrate this is to simply observe the change of the New Year. Watch how the closing of one chapter and the opening of a new one are separated from it's
core idea. The core idea is that new life always rises up out of death & sacrifice. It's the retelling of the Messianic story in every day of every life. It is separated or even "carved out" because there isn't a lot of time or perceived need to see it.
Connecting our life to this core idea inspires us in our daily risings. It empowers us to never succumb to our daily dyings as if they tell the whole story. This is the
surest path to get the "MORE" that we all seek, and the beauty is that you don't need another life to possess it. This is what it means to live spiritually.
Of course the option is that you can front load your year with a bunch of new things to do or not do. We can busy ourselves for a better life one day, or slow down to abundantly live our life each day.
I look forward to another great year with
you.
