The Intellect & Truth

"Intellect is a part of a good faith. Intellect is the light, the heart is the direction." ~Tariq Ramadan
The Intellect and Truth
Good morning!
We are beginning a new month already, so let me ask you: "How are you doing on your New Year's Resolutions?" At this point, over 3/4 of people have already abandoned any hope of lasting change. Is that you?

This month I have shared with you some nuggets from my book "Getting Better When You Can't" in the hope of helping you get an accurate definition of your problem.  Today, we examine the final aspect: The Intellect.

Last week we learned that the affections become inflamed and then cause your will to transduce your thoughts into actions that will bring you satisfaction.

But what is it about you that believes that doing the thing you want to change is actually going to bring you satisfaction? Your intellect.

The intellect is the seat of truth within your thinking. It is the place where you make determinations about the world. It is where you decide if certain things are true or untrue. The intellect is the testing ground for your faith assumptions.

We will never live better than we think. We can never find lasting motivation for change in guilt, duty, or fear. We will never overcome our problems until a greater more inclusive truth displaces what we actually believe is true.

Example: So long as a person is convinced that healthy food doesn't taste as good, they will always live in a perpetual battle between health and satisfaction. Once the intellect concludes (read: believe) that healthy foods taste amazing, they will never struggle again.

This works the same way for your debt , gambling, rage , porn, lying, laziness, or fear.

If you want to learn how to reorient your intellect, please consider getting a copy of my book. I am making it FREE to anyone on this distribution list.

May you want your best life enough to humble yourself and become a student. Once you are ready, your true life will begin in earnest.
