We are unconscious of most of life's moments. Many of us live life in a sort of fog, a kind of daze that waxes over us and keeps us from noticing all but the most acute bits of time.

We are all progressing toward the future at the exact same rate, one second at a time. Yet some people are able to extract the most from each of these ticking seconds, while others struggle to find the point of anything.  Why is that?
What causes the difference? How do we live without regret?

The answer is: Spiritual Awareness (Let me prove it)

Try and dissect exactly what makes some moments absolutely epic. Nostalgia is proof that we did not possess the gravity of the moment until much later. Whether it is a wedding, a funeral, a celebration, a culmination, or a consumation, each powerful moment is defined by it's transcendence. Connecting to transcendence allows us to see (if only briefly) the BIGGER STORY and OUR PLACE WITHIN IT. This is at the heart of every great moment.

The moment we see ourselves within the context of IT ALL, our reality is altered, and the emotions overcome us. Emotion and reason are equal tethers to transcendence. Emotions do not create it, but they validate it's presence.

The only way to capture more moments, is to learn how to connect to transcendence. This can only be done by living IN THE MOMENT. It is spiritual immaturity that causes us to continue to relive the past or to live for that "one day".
If you would possess any moment at all, it will only be the present moment.

To capture a moment we must be prepared for it. We must anticipate it. This way we will recognize it when it appears.  We cannot be in God's presence if we live in the past or the future. That is why faith systems that are all about evacuating our present lives for a future heaven are so problematic to me. Why would we ever expect to enter an eternal moment, if we have no capacity to enter it here and now? That idea seems strange to me.

Can you sit still? How long until your moment of quiet contemplation is interrupted by distempered thoughts?  Henry Scudder says that distempered thoughts are like a jester blowing a feather up while standing in the presence of a king. You see, the deepest part of our self actually hates the stillness of the light of the moment (John 3:20), and as a result we deflect into the past or future, where our false self can live a happy distracted life.

As we mature through prayer, meditation, contemplation and focused preparation, we ultimately show that we value and honor the present moment because it is the only moment we can do anything about. This moves us into a responsive place. It becomes the source and impetus for tremendous effort and output in the world. (Procrastination is spiritual immaturity because it sees the present and the future as disconnected)

From within this moment, we begin to see the wonder and wisdom that is in all things. Good and bad disappear as polarities, and beauty enters as the wider picture emerges. As we learn to abide in the light of the present, we begin living in increasing conformity to this rhythm and begin finding ourselves in a stream or "FLOW" where our life has immense purposes and power. It causes us to have tremendous love of others. (1 John 2:9-11)

At this point, each moment is sacred, and you will never desire to be anywhere else. The Psalmist said it like this: "For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere... " (Psalm 84:10).

You CAN find your center, and you CAN connect to the transcendent in each moment. You CAN grow your soul to find its true Source and purpose. If I can help strengthen you in this journey, please let me know.

Have a wonderful week.

Please Consider
Is there such a thing as ABSOLUTE TRUTH? Have you ever considered that your life is merely reflecting the truth that you can possess and apply?

I hope you want your life enough to learn this basic framework. Why don't you get the audio of my book so you can learn this in your car.
I'd be honored if you would check out my podcast. It's called the KevKast ! Let me know what you think. I'll be adding new content this week.
