Happy Monday, I hope you had a great 4th of July weekend. I've got a question for you.
What are you willing to change in order for your life or your world to get better?
We often complain about our lives, our relationships, our
government, our jobs, our status in life, or about other people. Did you realize complaining means that you can perceive the world a little bit better than it is right now? Complaining functions on the rails of ethical "oughts." Complaining is only possible if morality first exists.
It all comes down to CHANGE.
Politicians promise
it.
We are always seeking it.
It often comes with great difficulty.
If we deconstruct the changing process, we discover that change is a byproduct not an end product. This means that something must
FIRST happen in order for CHANGE to happen.
That thing is REDEFINITION.
Medicine redefined the practice of leeching.
Astronomy redefined the orbits of the sun and the earth.
The internet has redefined access to information.
Genetics redefined cancer.
A redefinition then is an expansion based upon a wider exposure to the TRUTH.
(That statement needs repeating)
A redefinition then is an expansion based upon a wider exposure to the TRUTH.
From a spiritual or
religious perspective, redefinition can either be the basis of profound liberation or war. Redefinition is ultimately a spiritual or religious pursuit.
Some see redefinition as the dawn of new day.
Other see redefinition as the beginning of the end.
This series is designed with the skeptic and the faithful in
mind. I will explore common themes within Christianity with the purpose of redefining the perspectives of both camps.
Both sides will be invited to redefine what they have concluded about faith.
We can't just redefine things willy nilly. If our definition or redefinition is not founded in truth, the net result will be the diminishment or even ruin of our humanity.
In the
words of Pilot, "What is Truth? At the end of this series you will be closer to the answer than today.
I hope you have a great week.
