Pattern Recognition

Architecture creates patterns. Footprints create patterns. Water creates canyons, and shapes beach fronts. Wind creates patterns in sand and snow.

Everything moves in a particular rhythm. Our blood moves in waves. So does electricity. So does the ocean and weather. So does every molecule of the universe.

A footprint or a bent over tree tell us that something more is a part of the story. They tell us something real was there. A statue, painting, building or city all tell us that a mind or an intelligence or desire or a person or something more helped to create our present moment. In a sense, everything tells us we are not alone.  Others came first and their thinking preceded ours. In some cases it far surpasses ours, at other times we see deficiencies.

Every impression has a lifespan and also points to the life that made it. Something physical points to something non-physical or spiritual.

Spiritual life is learning the skill of pattern recognition.

When I was a pastor inside a religious system, I thought my job was to turn outsiders into insiders. I was a part of what Richard Rohr calls an organized system of "personal salvation projects."

Though good things can happen in religious systems, I started to look closer at the lasting impression on our world, and an honest appraisal of our impression was not favorable.

Now my sole focus is helping others to see the cruciform pattern within everything. Every rock, plant, animal, person, business, accomplishment, project, or work of art follows a single and unique set of footprints.

We begin with inspiration or a desire, we follow after it with the hope of enlarging our collective existence, we then face a myriad of obstacles and challenges, even suffering. Then some aspects of our inspiration, plan or life must die or be sacrificed in order for new life to emerge on the other side. Rising up always follows sacrifice. One energy translates into another. The diminishment of one thing makes way for the arrival of another.

Test it. See if you have ever accomplished anything, small or great, that did not go through this vital pattern. The breakfast you eat today, was alive and died so you can live. We sacrifice for the lives of our kids and pets. Our successes come from sacrifice.

For something to be seen in every molecule of the universe means that something greater has left that impression. What has left the cruciform impression on everything? Once we see it. We will never "unsee" it. It is seen with our "knower".

We live and explore this kingdom or world, but the power that leaves this imprint is from the King. Science and faith converge in the human experience. Flesh and Spirit dwelling together is the perfect design.

This is not a new or alternative religion. It is the culmination or completion of every pursuit. All pursuits are spiritual at inception and completion. Everything ends where the footprints or impressions lead us. To the Source.

The richest gift I could ever offer you is that you begin to see this pattern in everything . Once you do, something amazing happens. The world will become new and every bit of suffering means that you are only in the middle of the story, not the end. As Joel Osteen once said " You will never be buried, you can only be planted."

Our virtual family has no buildings, staff, or overhead. This allows you to take your money and put it to good in the world.
