I know , you are probably thinking; "What is up with that quote?" The truth is, I didn't want to regurgitate on you the typical soup of the holidays. After all, if this is a worthwhile group then there needs to be worthwhile thoughts to think about.
So if there is a God, and he is saying something in this bible verse, he seems to have a disposition that most church people don't talk much about, but it is one I think we can appreciate. Here are a few of my observations: 1. Real thankfulness actually costs us something. 2. Real thankfulness can see how fragile our lives really are. 3. Real thankfulness means we will try and be better today than we were yesterday. 4. Real thankfulness means we can hope for more.
I think when David wrote this Psalm, he knew just the kind of person we all are, that is why he finished Psalm 50 by writing Psalm 51...
